We are a lively and welcoming Christian community right in the heart of the City of Canterbury. Although Canterbury is mainly known for its Cathedral, Methodism has also played an important part in the City since the 18th Century. We are a Church that very much looks to the present and the future but we are also proud of our Methodist heritage. Being a city-centre church, St. Peters is the largest church in the Canterbury and East Kent Methodist Circuit
We believe our mission is to share the good news of Jesus Christ through word and deed. Our congregation is made up of many different age groups and backgrounds that reflect the community we serve. We have a wide range of fellowship and study groups, and the church buildings are also used for many community activities throughout the week.
With three universities in the city along with other colleges of further education, Canterbury is home to a large student population in term time and is busy with tourists throughout the summer months.
We also have two Methodist Primary Schools locally together with strong links with Kent College, the Methodist Independent Boarding School on the outskirts of Canterbury.
When you are in Canterbury please come and join in our Sunday worship and experience for yourself the warmth of our welcome.
