Circuit Walk

Happy New Year Everyone and thank you for your company in the fresh air last year!

Thursday 16th January - led by Ruth - please reply to mjandrap@aol.com
Starting the year with a shorter than usual gentle walk on the flat,  meeting at Hampton Pier free Car Park for 11am, yes 11 am, walking to Herne Bay to have Fish & Chips and then the return walk.

Some further details of the proposed walk on January 16th
From the free carpark at the end of Hampton Pier Avenue - Herne Bay it is about 1 and a half miles to the Clocktower in H/B.  All hard concrete path with various information boards along the way.  There is a small pier on which there are some retail outlets but I do not know whether any will actually be open at this time of year.
At the Clocktower there could be an option to vist the Seaside Museum which I noted has a display about Reculver Towers.  It is open on Thursdays and is £3 for concessions.
If we feel it is too early to eat we can walk further along to the Kings Hall.

There are two options for food - MacKaris which seems to have more on the menu than just fish and chips and The Saxon Shore which is a Wetherspoons and has a wide ranging menu.

The route back to our cars can be a simple retracing of steps or we can keep to the road which gives us a higher view over the beach huts etc.

The start time of 11 am was chosen as it is quite a short stroll by usual standards!  There are public toilets at the carpark. CT6 8DL

Let me know who to expect.  Thanks.

Ruth
